Course Description
Learn how to plan and conduct assessments of competence for applicant and accredited laboratories within an ILAC-recognized accreditation body. Examine assessment principles and techniques. Practice the required skills.
Each accreditation body makes use of common interpretations of asssessment requirements, but differ in the processes used in the delivery of accreditation.
This 5-day Training Course is offered only through ILAC-recognized accreditation bodies and it contains the internationally recognized approaches to conducting conformant assessments of competence. The techniques learned promote the interpersonal skills needed to conduct successful assessments. Exercises are assigned and delivered in class. Candidates are expected to review materials during the evenings between training days.
The course contains extensive reference to international interpretation and implementation guidance documents which are used by accreditation bodies around the world.
Applicants should already be approved for use as an assessor in the accreditation body sponsoring the course, pending successful completion of the course. Graduates will be considered for use as an assessor in the sponsoring accreditation body and represent that accreditation body in the examination of the following disciplines at applicant and accredited laboratories:
- Technical competence,
- Laboratory management systems,
- Traceability requirements,
- Uncertainty requirements,
- Continual improvement,
- Control of documents and records.
